How do I make an appointment?

Please complete your details in the ‘Contact’ section or email info@piecebypiecetherapies.com and we can book you in at your earliest convenience, you do not need a referral. However, you might like to see your GP and arrange for a Mental Health Care Plan, this allows you to receive a rebate through Medicare.

Do I need a referral?

You do not need a referral to see a Psychologist or Speech Pathologist. However, if you would like to receive a Medicare rebate from your session with one of our Psychologists you will need to visit your GP, Psychiatrist or Paediatrician and ask for a Mental Health Care Plan. Make sure to let you GP practice know, when you’re booking in for your appointment, as you often need a double appointment.

How much does it cost to see a Psychologist?

Piece by Piece Therapies strives to offer affordable care to all our clients. Our appointments are reasonably priced within the private practice setting. Your out-of-pocket costs depends on a couple of different factors.

If you wish to use a Mental Health Care Plan you will receive a rebate of $96.65 per session for ten sessions within a calendar year. Depending on your private health insurance, you may also be eligible for cover under your extras policy.

Our current fees are less than the fee that the Australian Psychological Society (APS) recommends. Please complete your information in the ‘Contact’ section, or email info@piecebypiecetherapies.com and we will be in touch to discuss the current fee schedule.

There is no additional costs for after-hour appointments. If you have a current healthcare card, we are more than happy to discuss a reduction in fees.

What will happen in my first appointment with a Psychologist?

In your first appointment we will endeavour to make you feel as comfortable as possible. After completing registration paperwork, and discussing our confidentiality and cancellation policy, we will spend the majority of the session speaking about how you are feeling, what brings you into therapy and what you hope to achieve. At the end of the first session, we will plan on what to explore further and develop goals to work toward. Our focus is for you to leave with hope and confidence.

How much does it cost to see a Speech Pathologist?

Piece by Piece Therapies strives to offer affordable care to all our clients. Our appointments are reasonably priced within the private practice setting. Your out-of-pocket costs depends on a couple of different factors. Some clients may be eligible for financial support through NDIS or certain care plans provided by your GP or Paediatrician.

What will happen in my first appointment with a Speech Pathologist?

The initial appointment with your Speech Pathologist may largely be around information gathering. It is important to have a good understanding of development and background in order to best support you or your family. Your therapist will then work with you on goals and develop a tailored plan to best support your needs and aims.
