Kathryn Heffernan
Kathryn has been working as a Psychologist for over 15 years. She has worked predominantly with individuals for counselling and therapy across the life span but particularly adolescents and young to middle aged adults. Kathryn has worked in several different sectors including Community Health and Psychiatric services, but has vast experience working in educational settings in both secondary and tertiary institutions. Kathryn believes that the therapeutic relationship is paramount to effective therapy and takes the time to get to know her clients from a holistic/whole person perspective. When working with children and adolescents, Kathryn is open to working collaboratively with the important people in their lives, such as parents, teachers and school staff.
Therapies
Kathryn utilises a broad range of therapeutic modalities in her therapy including Person Centred, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focussed Therapy and Emotion Focussed Therapy.
